How it works

Meaning first.
Music second.

You do not need to arrive with the right words. The process helps two people reflect naturally, then follows what carries meaning.

Space to reflect. Room to be yourselves.

Begin with your own perspective

Each of you starts with independent reflection. Take the prompts at your own pace and respond in the language you naturally use. You do not need to prepare stories, find the perfect words, or arrive with song ideas.

Then make room for conversation

Shared conversation brings you together around a few starting points. It is a chance to remember, listen, and notice what each of you brings to a shared experience. Different memories are welcome; you do not need to agree on every detail or take turns giving polished answers.

You do not need to perform

Ordinary details, pauses, humor, and unfinished thoughts can all belong. Speak as yourselves rather than trying to sound poetic or musical. The prompts offer a place to begin, not a script to follow.

Choose what you share

You do not need to disclose everything. You may skip material you do not wish to discuss. Independent reflection gives each person space for their own perspective; private participant material is not a public example. Public sharing requires separate authorization.

After your reflections and conversation

MRP reviews the source material and your musical preferences, then interprets meaningful aspects of the relationship through music. You are not being asked to write a song or decide its meaning in advance. Later, your feedback about what feels recognizable, incomplete, or unlike you is part of the process.
